  1. This is a broad collection of Link Wray at his best. Most of it is instrumentals, his srongest points really. Plenty of twang and rockabilly. I like this album because when they remastered it they left in the background studio chat and false starts-which I find to be interesting/5(4).

After cutting the anthemic instrumental "Rumble" for Cadence Records, Link took his follow-up "Rawhide" over to Epic Records, and this track compilation is the most excellent distillation of his tenure at the label. The honchos at Columbia were trying their level best to tame Link down for mass consumption (Duane Eddy twanged for White teenage America; Link Wray played for hoods).9/
